Universal Credit information for landlords

You are here

The Department for Work and Pensions has created two guides to help landlords understand how Universal Credit will affect them and what safeguards are in place:

In March 2018 we held a Private Landlord event giving details of the support you can expect from Ipswich Borough Council to prepare for the roll out of Universal Credit full service on 25th April 2018. Find out more about our local offer of support

If you are concerned your tenant is not able to pay their rent they can contact our Housing Options team on 01473 433033 or housingoptions@ipswich.gov.uk or visit the Housing Options page

If you are an existing customer of the Ipswich Lettings Partnership (ILP) please contact the team on 01473 433221 or landlords@ipswich.gov.uk and they will work to support you and your tenant. For more information on ILP services for private landlords, visit the Ipswich Lettings Partnership page.

The Money Advice Service also has information for landlords, visit their website at: Money Advice Service, what you need to know if a tenant is claiming universal credit
