Mansion refurbishment

Published6th June 2016

Work is under way on repairs to Ipswich’s Christchurch Mansion, which will help protect the building and its important collections.

The Grade I listed museum in the centre of the town’s Christchurch Park will remain open during the work, which is expected to take until the rest of the year.

The work will see repairs to the roof, brickwork, rewiring and improvements to heating and humidity. Extra CCTV cameras will also be installed and repairs to the main path carried out.

Although the Mansion will remain open, individual rooms might be closed to the public for brief periods.

Entrance to the Mansion is free.
