The Housing Ombudsman Service is set up by law to look at complaints involving the tenants and leaseholders of social housing landlords and other housing organisations registered with them. The service is free, independent, and impartial.

The Housing Ombudsman has published a statutory code which is effective from the 1st April 2024 and this sets out good practice that will allow landlords to respond to complaints effectively and fairly. A copy of the code can be found by clicking here

Landlords have been asked to self-assess against the Code by June 29th 2024 and publish the results.
