Access to the documents and supporting evidence base for the emerging Ipswich Local Plan.

On 23 March 2022, Ipswich Borough Council adopted the Ipswich Local Plan Review 2018-2036, in accordance with Section 23 of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 and Regulations 17 and 26 of the Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2012 (as amended).  The Plan comprises the Core Strategy and Policies Development Plan Document (DPD) Review, the Site Allocations and Policies (Incorporating IP-One Area Action Plan) DPD Review, Policies Map and IP-One Area Action Plan Inset Policies Map.

The Ipswich Borough Council Local Plan Review 2018-2036 was submitted for Examination on 10 June 2020. Karen Baker DipTP MA DipMP MRTPI and Mike Hayden BSc(Hons) DipTP MRTPI were appointed to hold an independent Examination of the Ipswich Borough Council Local Plan Review. The Examination Hearing sessions were held between 24 November and 16 December 2020. Consultation on Main Modifications to the Plan took place between 29 July 2021 and 23 September 2021.

This consultation has now closed. Have your say on the proposed Main Modifications to the Ipswich Local Plan, which are intended to address issues of legal compliance and/or soundness.
On 10th June 2020, the Ipswich Local Plan Review 2018-2036 was submitted to the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government for independent for examination. The plan was submitted in accordance with Regulation 22 of the Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2012 (as amended) and Section 20 of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 (as amended). This part of the local plan process is called Regulation 22.
