Blue Badge holders are invited to enjoy the drive-thru Ipswich Christmas lights event on Sunday 3 December.
The free event gives blue badge holders the opportunity to drive through the pedestrianised town centre to see the lights between 6 and 9pm.
Those wishing to attend can book a free 30 minute time slot – one ticket per vehicle – on the Ipswich Theatres website at: www.ipswichtheatres.co.uk/whats-on/christmas-lights-blue-badge-drive-thru or by calling the Box Office team on 01473 433100.
For the safety of pedestrians, there will be a 5mph speed limit on the route and except in an emergency, vehicles will not be permitted to stop.
The route starts at Major’s Corner and continues west along Carr Street, Tavern Street and Westgate Street, finishing at Crown Street.
Councillor Sophie Connelly, Ipswich Borough Council Portfolio Holder for Culture and Customers, says:
“Our Christmas lights drive-thru event has become a Christmas tradition, and we’re pleased to be providing this option once again for Blue Badge holders to see.
The event is free to enjoy and we just ask that drivers remember to display their Blue Badge in the front windscreen during the event.”
