Who is eligible to receive assistance?
Anyone who is already an Ipswich Borough Council tenant or been offered a tenancy.
What does the Tenancy Support Scheme offer?
The service provides support for tenants whose needs may include-:
How is Tenancy Support provided?
The Tenancy Support Scheme is completely free of charge and provided by our in-house support officers.
Support is provided for up to 12 weeks although in a few cases support may need to be extended; depending on individual circumstances. The support will be individually tailored to meet your needs and your support officer will agree a support plan with you. Your support is reviewed after twelve weeks by your support officer, who will discuss any further needs you may require.
What is the Tenant Incentive Scheme (TIS)?
The Tenant Incentive Scheme (TIS) was introduced at the beginning of 2022 with the aim of helping tenants downsize to a smaller property and freeing up larger homes for families. This also helps tenants move to smaller homes to reduce on heating costs and avoid spare bedroom tax. This has benefitted several tenants struggling financially, some had been in rent arrears that have been paid with the incentive payments and lowed bills moving forward that they can now manage.
