Tenants' Handbook and Local Standards

You are here

Tenants' Handbook

Information on looking after your home and managing your tenancy can be found in the Tenants' Handbook.

You can find out about the services we provide as your landlord and about your responsibilities as a tenant.

Local Standards

Local Standards are a result of a collaboration between tenants and the Council to set out in practical terms what our tenants can expect and how the Council will be held to account. The Regulator for Social Housing has updated the expectations of how Social Housing Landlords, like Ipswich Borough Council, deliver services to tenants, how they engage with, listen and learn from tenants and ensure they provide high quality homes in safe communities

An annual report will be used to provide feedback to all tenants on whether these standards have been met. We will be working with tenant representatives to look at how we can improve our services and meet these standards. The most recent annual report can be found here.

Your Data Matters

Ipswich Borough Council holds personal information about you in connection with your tenancy. It is necessary for us to hold personal information about you, such as your contact details, in order to administer our responsibilities as your landlord. These details are kept securely and may be shared with other teams in the Council in relation to your tenancy, for example so we can carry out maintenance work required by law.

You can find out about this in the Maintenance & Contracts and Tenancy Services Privacy Notice.
